Scenic Sundays

Going for Sunday brunch with the bf. It was a perfect day in San Francisco.Thought we try a new eatery, Delancey Street Restaurant. The servers are all ex-cons given a second chance at a new life. Great food with a good mission. 4 star service too. I was very intrigued by it. View is amazing. Right by the water on the Embarcadero. My good friend Nastassia mentioned this place to me awhile back. Been meaning to eat there and it turns out my aunts bf lives right across the street from it. Next stop. The Auto Show. My mocassins got me through all the walking inside the convention center. So Comfortable!!! You really need to pair them with tights or slim jeans esp. if you lack in the height department. (I'm only 5'1). I was impressed by the pearl coated Aston Martin. If you remember, the car was also featured in James Bond, Quantum of Solace. Ahh Daniel Craig....just drooled a bit. Maybe if I didn't shop so much, I could save up for a car? Nah, it's always been clothes over cars for me...

My top size is a medium. Can you tell? It was the only size they had available and I fancied the print. I suppose it gives me room for more food especially around the holidays. The loose look is in so works for me! I also own this top in xs in white but with peacock feather prints and I swear it fits just the same. Here I go with my laced ankle boots again. They really do go with everything. I put them on to add a touch of badass to my look. lol

Oh and btw, don't mind the hairbands. I always have 1 or 2 around my wrist for emergencies.

TREND: Cape Collars

I've been really into the leather jackets with cape collars aka a spread collar. The A.L.C asymmetric leather jacket is by far my favorite but I couldn't go to Barneys to spend $1,100 at this point in time so I've been window shopping  for a knock off. Vince sells their convertible version for $995, though not available until Spring 2010. My search ended today when I came across a similar one at Metropark. It cost me $189, 1/5th of the price! Looks just as good. 100% leather and thinly lined with fur to keep me warm. Sorry PETA. I'm pulling a double wammy. You must despise me right about now. Another option is Forever21. They carry a faux version for $47.80.

Get yours now. They're going to be hot! I researched all price points. Check out the images below.

Hey SHORTy!

Blazer: Xhilaration from Target. Yes Target!
Tank: bebe
Denim Shorts: Joe's jeans
Tights: Urban Outfitters in sheer black
Booties: Calvin Klein
Necklaces: Stuf boutique on Haight SF
Ring: Forever21
Handbag: Reiss London

I wore this outfit to work today*. I still want to be taken seriously so a blazer is a key piece to maintain professionalism.

BARGAIN ALERT! Blazer from Target. You could never tell because it's slimming and is cut so well. It's one of the cheapest articles from my closet, yet is my go to for work.

Winter isn't a reason to put away your Summer shorts. Just put a pair of tights under them and you're covered. The ring and handbag you've seen before. These are great transitional items I use again and again.

* If jeans don't fit into your dress code at work, try a skirt or wait for casual fridays to come around.

My cupcake tank was a steal. Just $10 from the clearance rack. The best part, the cupcake is spelled out in words reading,"EAT SHIT." Sweet.

I came across Lynn Gentry, random person on the sidewalk at Haight/Ashbury who types poems for you. Any subject you choose at your given price. I of course pick cupcakes. I admired his old school 80's casual attire. Look at the way he tied his scarf (ascot style). I grew pretty fond of him until we disagreed on our choice in cupcakes. He favored Hostess and ONLY Hostess. Props to the fella who discretely serenaded me with his banjo too. SF Rocks!

I always try to wear just a pop of color. It brightens and awakens skin.

This poncho was a bargain from a boutique called Bloom. Perfect knitted turtle neck for bracing the cold on a windy day. Liked it when I purchased it, but love it even more now that I've put it on.

I carried the sign with me to brighten up my day. Silly me.

Annual Victoria Secret Fashion Show

The annual Victoria Secret fashion show was filmed last night in New York. I anticipate watching this show every year as does every man in America. It's a dazzling production with some of the biggest names in the modeling industry. Definitely a showcase on my list of events to attend in my lifetime. Heidi Klum traded in the catwalk for a hosting gig this year while Marissa Miller held the honors of wearing the $3 million dollar diamond bra. My favorite is always the Pink segment with it's signature bubble gum colors. Thumbs up for the stylist (Charlotte Stockdale). Genius and oh so fun! Don't you just want to be there? The show will air on Dec 1st on CBS. Check your local listings.

Just one of those days where you don't really want to make an effort to dress up. I'm fortunate to work in a creative industry where I can wear what I choose just as long as I don't look crazy. There's just something about a hoody making me feel so cosy and comfy especially on a chilly day. Didn't want to look completely grunge so I added gold loop earrings and some chunky rings. When in doubt, just remember accessories really do wonders to a basic outfit.

Jimmy Choo for H&M

By popular demand (this is for you  J. Nakamura), I had to post my Jimmy Choo for H&M experience...

Recessionistas were crying out for Mr. Choo. The line started with campers the eve of the event stretching  4 blocks come morning. What a madhouse it was! The store was wiped out within minutes of opening at 10:00am. It was a battlefield far worse than any black friday. I must have been what seemed to be the 500th person in line. I entered the store to see masses of women grabbing all they could. I was able to find a jumper in a size 4 hiding behind a size 10. Security blocked the accessories area where the first 160 fashion whores could only enter with a bracelet. Everyone else had to wait until 12:00pm. While security stepped away for a split second, I said f-this, grabbed the cheetah print clutch I've been eyeing in advertisements and headed straight to the tills. It was at that moment I realize I too am a fashion whore. Although there was some shame in it, I smiled as I walked out with my Jimmy Choo shopping bag as I played "Fashion" by Lady Gaga and "Jimmy Choos" by Chester French through my Ipod.

Jumper: $69.95
Bag: $129.00
Shoes: Michael Kors
No Jimmy shoes for me. I had put up with enough for a day...

PH8

Pin It Bebe revamps their long overdue sportsline and launches PH8 (pronounced fate) for the active yet trendy consumer. After viewing the catalog, I never wanted to look cuter while running. Realistically, some pieces should be worn post-work out. At least, we can finally wave goodbye to the oh so tacky t-shirts that use to vomit out bebe sport . Thank you for that!

My 2 must haves I'd definitely wear beyond the gym:

Keeping Warm

Pin It Keeping warm and staying in style can be a challenge esp. during the winter, but the key is layering and adding color.
-Start with a basic cotton.
-Throw over a thick neutral color knitted sweater or cardigan.
-Add a bright scarf in the same color family with a great print (plaid/animal will do)
...and we know jeans never fail.
