Just a quick snapshot before heading out the door to hang with the girls. This is my go to scarf when I want to dress everything up as seen here and here. Just purchased another pair of laced boots that I've been styling differently. Will have detailed shots for ya soon...

DIY- Sweater into scarf

Jacket: Forever21,Cotton Cardigan: J.Crew, Stripe Tee: Club Monaco,
Neon Scarf: Banana Republic sweater,
Jeans: Seven For All Mankind, Boots: Steve Madden, Gloves: American Eagle Outfitters, Bag: Nordstrom

The scarf is actually a sweater turned scarf. I was just about to head out the door today when I noticed something missing. Color. I put on this blinding highlighter of a sweater and thought... well this isn't going to work. It was an in your face yellow. I wanted to go for minimal so I played around with it. You guys can do this too. No one has to know it's a sweater.
To create this scarf look:
1.Put the sweater over your head like you normally would.(V-necks work best)
2. Grab the sleeves and tie it into a knot.
3. Stuff in loose ends and wah la!

I'm pretty much living in this top right now. Just adoring the drape of it. Premiered it last week here  Although some people thought I've mistakenly forgot to tuck my shirt in, I am purposely showcasing the back dip. It surprises me sometimes when you see someone wear a piece that's out of the ordinary, and they get called out on how they are "suppose" to wear it because it's unconventional. With society's "rules" of dressing, we've become far removed from the fact that fashion can be art, but it's rarely recognized. The only time it's accepted is when we've tirelessly seen it in magazines, at the point it's considered a trend. Next time you see a crazy new look, think about the idea and emotion behind it. I bet that person will make your day. Now back to my top...I am a little excited to throw it on as a dress too. That will be part three, so watch out for it. Such an easy piece! I'm vertically challenged, but these shorts are giving me mile long legs. No complaints here.
Oh and the watch! My good friend bought it back from her trip to Asia. Thanks Jo! The hand is so cute. Little things reminding me of my childhood days really lift my spirits.

I had a nice weekend and luckily steered clear from the rain. Hope everyone else did too.
I leave you all with one tip: Dress fearlessly. Wear something you thought you could never pull off. I guarantee you'll have some fun. Don't forget to let me know how it goes!

Blazer: Xhilaration @ Target, Cardigan: Kimchi Blue, Dress: Forever21, Scarf: Bijoux Terner(The variety shop at the airport..ring a bell?),Tights: Urban Outfitters, Knee socks: H.U.E, Ankle boots: Calvin Klein, Bag: The Sak
Slippers: Handmade neighborly gifts

I am absolutely obsessed with knee socks, tights, thigh highs, anything sticking right to your legs! I have just been in a shorts and dress mood lately and this depressing weather calls for me to cover up the gams. Yes, I'm yearning for warmer days and am finding all means possible to wear summer clothes.
Thought the sneakers from Footlocker added a nice touch to the background. Came home to find a pair of handmade yarn knitted slippers for me from my bf's neighbor. So sweet of her! Perfect as I was freezing cold. I look like a stuffed animal, but I'm warm!

Alexander Wang Spring 2010 RTW

Wang is known for his simplistic looks from afar, but take a closer look and the details are breathtaking.
I love the transition from front to back. He is brilliant at balancing his line each season. Oh and the loose side braid. So sexy. I am considering growing out my hair long enough to pull off this look or possibly wig it out. For the complete collection, visit Style.com here. Hopefully we see some of these "inspired" pieces strolling through H&M, TopShop or even Forever21 soon....

Weekend was spent doing absolutely nothing but eating, sleeping and shopping. Stopped into a couple thrift shops on Haight St. No luck. Maybe it was the stormy weather that brought me down. Although! Did come across some unusual, but humorous things. 1. a chair pole and 2. a one eyed robot fan. Ha. Just had to share!

Hey Elvis! Don't Step On My "Gray" Suede Shoes

Studded Suede Boots: Reiss, Bag: Nordstrom

These suede boots are a recent purchase. Traditionally I buy black boots because any other color and they go months in my closet collecting dust, never getting enough attention. This pair was an aquired love. They are not too far from black and go great with military green or olive. Can't wait til temperatures rise. That way, I can show some leg with them. Also shopping for a sand color lace up ankle boot for Spring. I would love to be the proud owner of this Chloe one from Net-a-Porter, but if I can find something similar and cost friendly, I may settle.
Definitely keeping an eye out.
