Where the sun don't shine

Beanie: Reiss, Blazer: Xhilaration @ Target, T-shirt: J.Crew, Jeans: Joe's, Bag: Nordstrom,
Jewelry: Forever21, American Eagle, Juicy Couture.

My Target blazer is starting to pill and will soon fall to pieces. I'm actually surprised it lasted this long considering where I got it. Currently on a search for a double breasted blazer similar to this, this  and this. As always, I'm open for any fast fashion suggestions.

Pics are from this past Sunday at the DeYoung museum. Raining cats and dogs on the outside and packed inside considering it was a free day, let alone cameras were not allowed in the exhibits. I did my best with the scene I had. Apologies for random cameos hence the man with a partially soaked back. Not a treat for the eyes I know. My whole purpose of attending was the King Tut exhibition, a small collection of artifacts found in/around the entrance of his tomb. Viewing the broad collars, hieroglyphic jewelry and kohl make-up worn in the Egyptian time period gave me flashbacks of costume history class. Hoped to snap a few pics for the blog but security came running with many dirty looks. The risk was far too high.

Need to catch up with London Fashion Week. Any show(s) I should focus on?

I know, I know, I've been M.I.A with outfits lately all do to NYFW. Viewing the majority of shows so far, my mind has been boggling with new ways to wear pieces from my closet. There are quite a few selections on my list to welcome into my wardrobe as well. I am sure to share with you all as they come out to play.

Decided to shoot at the park today. The sun was just about to go down as we were snapping away which is why there's a twilight vibe going on. The last 2 images I was hesitant to publish, but my photographer/boyfriend was convinced it could easily be an American Apparel ad.

Note to self:  Please make it a priority to re-touch your roots this week

London Fashion Week is up next. I feel like I can't keep up with every collection. I want to view everything by everyone. SO overwhelmed, but in such an exciting and inspiring way. Does everyone feel the same?

I can't seem to get the last three looks from F/W 2010 out of my mind as I lay in bed an insomniac the pass couple nights. My favorites include Tibi's usage of soft colors paired with fitted darks and finished off with the belted pouch! Need I say more? Now onto DVF who never ceases to amaze me every season. The absolute representation of how a woman should look and act. Mulberry. Again, I have to reiterate luxurious furs against silky prints. Sweet and seductive don't you think? The following image would characterize my instant reaction as I saw the outfits emerge on  Style.com

Fall into the Mix

I have been so impressed by rtw for f/w 2010 and it's not even over yet. Thus far, I have died and come back to life again and again over a mixture of prints topped off with fur textures. Generra and DVF among the many do this brilliantly for their f/w collections.  Women are taking their brights from spring and transitioning them into fall, adding on the chunkiest of coats. The women portrayed are not sweethearts any longer, but much of a powerful figure. Tough yet playful exteriors. Ankle boots beat down the catwalk as the clothes scream look at me and listen to me. We've move past the safe boundaries of matchy matchy into the age of taking risks. Also gone are the days we've sacrificed freezing in the cold to show off a little skin. We are smarter and covering up in style.Opaque tights, knee socks, and ankle boots remain essential items and will rule like never before.

These images are a pretty precise depiction of my weekend routine, comprising of Starbucks, a pit stop at my favorite patisserie, La Boulange and catching up on the latest magazines to hit shelves at Borders. I sneak away to the fashion section of the bookstore to read and skim through pages for hours. Today included a visit to Marc by Marc Jacobs on Fillmore. My willpower was tested here and I failed miserably with the purchase of an eco friendly tote and the cutest magnifying glass necklace.

I have not forgotten about NYFW, in fact I've been clicking away on Style.com post work each day this week to check out the latest scoop for F/W 2010. Will defintiely put in my two cents soon. Some worthy mentions though--Vena Cava, Rag & Bone, Rachel Comey, Generra, and no one has wowed me like Jason Wu, who blew me out of the water for this fall. Every piece coming down that runway, I'm a slave for. Bravo.

A Happy Valentines Day and Lunar New Year to you all!

We lost a true talent today. Showstopper. Elaborate excellence. Theatrical. Jawdropping was the work of Alexander Mcqueen. His collections over the years made me wonder what sort of superpowers he might have obtained to create pieces I would get lost in. His work up until now is more than enough to appreciate for a lifetime.Words cannot describe the level of artisitic genius this man posessed. Thank you for bringing us into another world and touching us with your designs. Speechless.

Spring Trends 2010

Pin It Hey all! Here's a quick vlog on my picks for Spring 2010 via YouTube. You'll have to excuse me, I was experimenting with my digital camera so the clip is very homemade. Maybe the quality will get better in time along with my speech. Anyways, enjoy and let me know your thoughts, opinions, etc.

Sorry didn't get around to posting this weekend. This pic happened moments before I came down with food poisoning. Spent the rest of the day on bed rest and replenishing my electrolytes from the aftermath of it all.

Still sticking to my Jimmy Choo bag and aviators this weekend. Let's get some higher temperatures out here shall we? Spring. I'm ready whenever you are...

Quick Chic

Blazer: Xhilaration @ Target, Tank: bdg, Tights: Express, Boots: Steve Madden, Bag: Jimmy Choo for H&M, Shades: Ray-Bans
Purchased this bag during the hysteria of Jimmy Choo for H&M. It needs more showtime so I decided to take it out this weekend. Great bag to just add a statement to a simple outfit. A great pair of shades and a designer bag is what I call quick chic. 2 things I can rely on when I'm pressed for time. Throw it on and you're set for the day.

I know I am kinda late but I finally got around to watching Avatar today! Have to say it was as good as everyone has made it out to be. There are so many 3D movies I must must must watch now. Despicable Me and Alice in Wonderland is on my list. I cannot wait. Oh and Pharrell collaborates with Hans Zimmer for one of the tracks on Despicable Me. I just had to say that because I love N.E.R.D and anything Startrak related. I heard a clip tonight. What a great partnership!

Shockwaves

Top: Collective Concepts, Jeans: Forever21, Boots: Reiss, Sunnies: Ray-ban,
Sweater: Banana Republic, Bag: Nordstrom

I'm really drawn to this top. Not too sure why. Maybe it's because of the sheer midnight blue tone topped off with miniature chains. The print appears to be fish scales but lightning and shockwaves come to mind. When I first spotted Collective Concepts, I became a fan because of their silk like fabrics. Trend is on point, budget friendly prices, and I hate say this but the prints pass for DVF. I usually find it on Haight St boutiques in San Francisco or on Melrose in L.A.

A trip to Krispy Kreme and 2 donuts later, I can feel the saturated fat growing on my chin. I think they are the worst things you can eat next to french fries, but hey the cute heart donut was screaming my name. Last shot is in my neck of the woods. Nice scene to end the day with.
