Hot fudge sundaes at Ghirardelli Square turned into a night of aimlessly roaming out art galleries by the wharf. Not really the kind of paintings that fancy me, but the white wall complimented by great lighting made for an unexpected blog shoot. I picked up this blazer at Zara's recent sale. Wasn't too confident with the loud color but it really grew on me as the day went on. I particularly adore how the length hits me at just the right spot to elongate my short legs.

It's been a short, yet fulfilling 3 day break from work. I appreciated the joys of sleeping in past noon, returned to the meaning of a complete breakfast (consisting of solid food, not just coffee)

and carelessly wandering new found neighborhoods for baked goods.
Looking forward to NYE festivities just around the corner will make the post-Christmas withdraw bearable. Hoping my plans to wear a dress for the first and probably the only time this season will succeed. Can't wait to toast this amazing year away!

When layering black, I always make sure to change up the textures to avoid looking so serious. Sheer black paired with solid blacks are always a chic way to go. Leather adds sheen and could have been another option here, but these mini polka dots were just too darn cute not to take for a whirl.

BEAUTY REGIMEN

Searching for the right cosmetics has not been the easiest thing for me. I've always treated it with a trial and error approach which I still find extremely exhausting until this day. Over the years, I've put my trust in these daily essentials, so much so that (at the risk of sounding vain), I can barely walk out the door without them.

1. Victoria Secret Eye Shadow Quad in Eye Contact

Not only is it rich in pigment, the shades blend well to give off a subtle and natural look. The step by step instructional palette just makes it a huge plus.

A new addition to my make up bag that will definitely be on rotation.

2. Strawberry Flowers perfume by Fresh

A light scent. Half floral. Half fruity. Not overpowering on either end. Drawn to it because there's a hint of clean sheets somewhere in there. With perfume, it's hard to find "your scent" if that makes any sense? With all the testers I've come across, they've always been way beyond my years, too floral, or too fruity. Perfume should reflect one's personality. The funny thing is you'll know it's you when you smell it. Kind of like tasting a particular food and instantly going mmm or ick.

3. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

Applied after make-up to keep it staying on all day long!

4. Chanel eyeshadow in Sillage

Used for days I'm super lazy to use the 4 step shadow. The soft pink awakens the eyes.

5. Bare Minerals all over powder in Warmth

Probably the one product I religiously use on the daily, considered to be a lifesaver--a cure to lack of sleep, malnutrition, and pale skin. A little bit on your t-zones and cheeks goes a long way. Result? A great glow, the perfect tan w/o the heavy feeling of a million layers on your face. It works wonders!!! I swear by it and even substitute it for foundation. Their products in general are genius.

6. Burts Bee's honey lip balm

All you need in a chapstick. Moisturizer, check! Nourishing, check!

Comes off matte just the way I like it.

7. Stila cover up stick in (b)

Dab this on facial scars, blemishes, and pimples. Blends into skin tone to take all your problems away.

Psss..also great for nude lips. Just dab a touch on your finger then onto your bottom and upper lips. Also available in (a) and (c) depending on your complexion.

8. M.A.C fix+ mist

In addition to my set in powder, the mist hydrates the skin and is used as an extra precaution to ensure my make-up really stays throughout the day.

CHEAT SHEET: How To Wear Leopard

Leopard when worn the wrong way could appear tacky, cheap and sometimes even rebellious. Because I am anything but a wild child, I've learned to adopt a fresh and updated approach to fit my style.

QUICK TIPS:

-The trick with leopard is balance. Try a fitted bottom with a loose top.

-Pair your print with solids in a neutral tone (grays, beige, whites)

-Go with a lighter wash leopard print. Current Elliott and Charlotte Russe have great ones!

Here goes the first installment of style pics of my boyfriend aka the guy behind the lens. I think he's been requesting this post ever since he started snapping my outfits for the blog. What better way to thank him for all he's done than today, his 27th birthday!

-His name is Chong,(you know..like cheech and chong) but he's always mistaken as John.

-His sneaker collection by far, outweighs my shoe fetish. Guess that means it's time for me to catch up?

-I'd like to think I'm his most prized possession, but that honor really goes to his autograph Jay-Z book.
-His style, I'd say is very street meets preppy. Think Kanye West. And yes, I frequently give my input on his outfit choices.

I don't wear flats enough to remember I still had these lurking around in my closet. I probably purchased them during an unbearable day of wearing high heels. I tend to do that, a lot.

The tunic was an impressive $5.50 from Forever 21. With a bandeau underneath, I figured out 4 different ways to wear it--as a tube top, asymmetrically, off shoulder and the how it was intended, as a T dress. Just hoping it won't shrink down too much in the wash.

Ahhh..laying here feels too good.

One of my favorite things to do is taking time out of my day to appreciate beautiful weather. Just simply standing out in the sun and inhaling the brisk morning air is quite therapeutic. Nice days like this should never be taken for granted or wasted indoors.

Initially, I had a pair of Levi's 501 shorts with this outfit, but with the gusting wind, it was out of the question. This spring, I've been mixing subtle prints with various textures into my wardrobe. So far, I'm diggin' it.

I've had this Kensie knit for years. Its versatility has kept me warm through the winter, breathable enough for spring and worn for every occasion down to a robe. If you've noticed at all, I'm not very good at shoe rotation. When I get comfy in a pair, I stick to them for weeks at a time. These go with everything, which I do keep in mind when shopping to get the most bang out of my buck.

The best time to take pics is at dusk. The glow and brisk air really set the mood.

My boyfriend and I took these images moments after the local news announced the California coast was in the clear from Tsunami warnings affected by the disaster in Japan. Whew! It's scary to think the ocean on a day like this, as beautiful as it appears could cause such horrific damages. I am appreciating everyone in my life and everything I have right about now.

Every Spring, I get what I like to call the hippie effect. That's when my flares, peace signs and headbands kick back in. This pic was snapped nearly a year ago. I never posted it because I felt the quality was poor, but as I come across it, I adore it more and more each time. Could be the 70s vibe. Maybe the vintagy grainy texture. Not exactly sure. Sometimes I appreciate a good flawed image where the unintended details stand out. After all, everything isn't always picture perfect.

Update: Turns out, my leather jacket (shown above) did sell on Ebay. A little sad to see it go. I desperately had to clean out my closet for the newbies so certain sacrifices had to be made.

Think Pink

The shirt read orange on the tag and appears to be salmon, but I like to think of it more as pink? I didn't bother trying it on before I headed to check out. Let's face it, sometimes the lines there are just a little overwhelming to deal with. It is a bit roomy, but I don't really mind the oversize/ I'm wearing my boyfriend's shirt look. Not that he would ever be caught dead in pink. I'm sure it'll shrink to fit once I throw it in the wash. :)

It hit me this week that my hair is getting overly long where it's becoming a little difficult to maintain. My tangled strands, frizzy and brittle ends need help stat! With all the haircut talk concerning Jennifer Aniston, Bieber and various bloggers it's making me want to chop off a good 5 inches too. Would definitely be much easier to handle.

I'm always a little skeptical when slipping on these pants. They are super thin so I have to be real careful as to wear seamless undies to avoid any sign of camel toe. Eeks! Not a pretty sight. The jacket, I'm currently selling on Ebay, but having regrets now that I've figured out other ways to layer it. What to do?

This past Friday, my company and I held a trunk show to preview the Givenchy Spring/Summer 11' jewelry collection. The pieces are going to blow you away! I was able to pick up this cuff from the Bellona group.

Oh yeaah. Score!! Set in 10k plated pave gold and sharp edges that could kill. Wish you could have seen the collar neckpiece to go along with it.

Starts to hit stores early March. Get at it!

Beautiful day in the Bay

Planned to spend the day indoors catching up on my favorite style sites, blogging, and singing out loud to my itunes playlist you know being my lame old self. That all changed when there was a shift in temperature. 70 degrees omg. So I did what everyone in Sf does on a day like this. Threw on a tank, pair of shorts, and hit the streets. I satisfied every craving--gooey grilled cheese, ice cream, chocolate, basically everything from the top of the food pyramid you should use sparingly.

Every neighborhood in the city was packed and so alive. I'm home now but can still hear laughter outside. It's amazing how the locals here react to heat. Love it.

Taking a couple minutes for shots across the street from our laundrymat while we wait for the clothes to dry.

Man, I miss the days when I had a machine at home.

Big ups to the vending machine selection there though. I am all over it! Knottsberry Farm cookies and baked Lays will surely past the time.

Scooped up the belt and scarf from a corner vintage shop in the Haight and decided to just pile them on top of each other. Wore a knit the majority of the day which beats the purpose of this top. What a total waste.

It was beautiful here all week long until the weekend came around. It's mother nature's way of teasing us San Franciscans with the weather again. Maybe it's time to head to L.A, again?

When it comes to dress, I always emphasize how important it is to own who you are, knowing what works, but more importantly what doesn't work.

Here goes the dress I tweeted weeks ago. Still can't grasp of all places, I found my dress at Frederick's of Hollywood and for a measly $40.

Spent NYE with my bf and cousins visiting from Australia. The night started off with a yummy 3 hour long, 4 course Hawaiian fusion prix fixe at Roy's. We then stumbled into Chinatown through an alley way into EZ5, a dingy bar but the name in itself made me think of a rapper, haha don't know why. It was surprisingly overcrowded with no Asians in sight. Stayed for a couple reasons--good music, the virgin drinkers who were making fools of themselves and the random Pac Man arcade machine, which I've decided I must one day own. Though the night wasn't a Hallmark moment, it's definitely scrapbook worthy.

Wearing one of my favorite tops (also worn here) and living in my favorite shoes of the moment.When I bought these boots from Forever 21, I wasn't aware they were the exact knock offs to the Opening Ceremony Chelsea boots running for nearly $600 a pop. Guess I can't say I was surprised to find them at Forever.

They're unbelievably comfy for 4 inch heels on 8 hour days. When I come across shoes like this, buying an extra pair isn't a bad idea.

It was pouring Christmas day and the only way to escape the rain was to shoot at this deserted parking lot. Threw on these red pumps to add a little holiday spirit but really, all I wanted to do was click my heels while reciting, "There's no place like home" x 3.
My bf is always complaining how I buy things only to wear them once. I remember when I bought this backpack(last worn here), he asked me if I was in kindergarten. To prove him wrong, I took it out for a whirl again. Comes in handy during the rain when you're holding an umbrella. I realize I have a hat on too, but that doesn't really count since it's felt.

I've been insanely layering the last couple days as I'm sure you all have. Can't tell from the pics but there's a cropped cardigan hiding underneath the hoodie. A technique I've been using daily to bare the freezing temperature that awaits outside my door.

The strips seen dropping off my jacket are just extra long drawstrings from my hoodie. They remind me a bit of the straps hanging from my Jansport backpack during my school days. You know, the ones you held on to, and swung around for no apparent reason :)

Oh memories. Anyways, what's your secret to staying warm? Bring those tips my way. I'm all ears.

The best thing about living in the city is stumbling across a hidden treasure. On Friday, my bf and I found the Seward St slide. Concrete slides tucked away in the Mission hills. Of course, we couldn't pass up the chance to try it out (even in our designer jeans). It was no laughing matter walking up the tough, uneven brick road leading up to the top, but worth every second. Cardboard and lunch trays are provided for the speedy ride down. Sure to get your heart to drop.

San Francisco really is the coolest!

These shoes were purchased 3 months ago and had gone on backorder. Completely forgot about them until a nice big box from Saks arrived on my doorstep. And of course, my first day taking it out for a spin, I just had to get down and dirty... ha.

This past Saturday I was invited to SeeZenn.com's pop up store in downtown SF where they held a fashion show of their newest arrivals. In the swag bag that was given to all the guest bloggers was a gift card used for this scarf and a pair of black metallic shorts. Super soft and super warm. I love how all their pieces are chic and best of all, easy on your budget. Thanks again Jannelle for the invite and not judging me for pigging out by the snack bar! I could feel the security guard staring from my peripheral as I noshed endlessly on brownie bites and madelines...yum.

There's a new edition I added at the end of the page for my lovely readers. It's thanks to you I get to attend these events as big or small as they are. It's always a blast!

It's never a good idea to tag along on a guys night out, but my bf insisted I come. Everything seems different on the sober side of town. You end up being either the babysitter, the designated driver, or the person to hold the vomit bag. And if you're really unlucky, all of the above. Skipping out on this one next time around....

Rainy season is making it's way here, but I don't really mind so much. I could use the time tucked away in a good book, accompanied by a dish full of homemade warm cookies oozing with chocolate chips.

The top actually lands a few inches under my thighs, making a great minidress for someone petite like me. I tied the ends because it's not capable of being a dress on windy days. It was really the washed silk though that drew me to it. You can tell, I've been into the shorts covered by huge chunky knits. I'm letting you know, it's here to stay for awhile.

I have a day left before I leave for Hawaii. Hear it's not exactly the best place for shopping, but at least some mula will be saved while I soak in the sun and feast on fresh fruit.

I notice it's when I feel sluggish, I end up with oversize clothes. Wasn't too sure what I was wearing when I stepped out of the house. Mornings are always a challenge for me. It often feels like a race but it's my own fault to re-hit the snooze button right down to the last second to make to work in the nick of time.

Pulled my boyfriend's shirt out of the hamper for what I hoped could be used as a jacket, but there's no justifying it. Lucky for me, I've been carrying my trusty knit in the trunk of my car as back up. :)

Besides the icky weather I just could not come to terms with, LA Fashion Weekend was filled with more than enough iced Spanish latte's from Urth Cafe along with an undeniable addiction to donuts from the hotel lobby.

My bestest and I spent Friday afternoon at the California Market Center where Soraya showcased that adorable gumball racerback. Joy Han came out with their signature silks with prints splashed all over. Always enough that you don't need anything else to complete the outfit. I would go as far to be bare feet and free flowing through the grass. On another note, shoulder exposure is continuing to be a huge detail for Spring 2011.

More times then often, I let my lazy days get the best of me. In result, basics are thrown on while accessories make the outfit.

Picked up this rad vintage Fendi cuff through some consignment shop up the hill from me. I was pretty stoked to stumble upon it on my way out after trying on a number of ill fitting garments.

October has treated me well so far. With a couple of expensive trips lined up this month, I've had to sacrifice my wants for my needs. That means going easy on the wallet by decreasing my starbucks intake, eating in and no shopping. Giving up coffee is hurting me the most. I shouldn't be complaining though. I'll be in LA for Fashion Week, Hawaii after, then a Gorillaz/ N.E.R.D concert when I return. Just maybe ending the month with a Halloween outing too :)

The jacket comes off as black, but is more of a chocolate brown up close. I'm a little colorblind, so it's all the same in my eyes. Shearling was all over Burberry this Winter, trickling down to the blog rounds, into every possible fashion magazine and now on me. I'm just really glad to be warm. It was real cold today.

Starting to FALL

This fall it's all about neutrals in a darker sense. Pairings of copper, camel, and gray will be a combination of mine for the season. Never have I been one to react to wool, but the small percentage of angora turned quite problematic against my skin as the day went on.

Apart from occasional excursions, I've been tucked away watching back to back episodes of Jersey Shore. 2 shows at a time is much more than the recommended daily dosage to create brainfart. Can't seem to shake the phrases "G.T.L" and "Teeee-Shiiiiiirt Tiiiime" out of my mind. I know I could be making better use of my time viewing BBC or reading Huffington Post, or even WWD, but no. It's no wonder they have such a cult following.

I've been a little behind, but as promised are pics of the local yogic shop I visited awhile back. Although the assortment is never ending and all thrown in your face at first glance, it gives me the feeling of an actual marketplace in Tibet. The rug (I've been thinking about since I left), I will be back for would make an amazing interior piece. The massive jewelry and handbag collection had me in there for an hour deciding what to get. I think there's no question about it, I'm going to be a regular here.

This thin waffle tee as close to naked as it may be, remains my favorite white tee to date. I count on it on 90 degree+ days. I know I've begged for this kind of weather all Summer, but there's a difference between hot and humidity. If mother nature could pass some cool breeze my way, it'd be much appreciated.

The back of these wedges do more for me than the front. From pacing back and forth at work to walking down the streets of Sf, they are super comfy if you're on your feet all day. And I am, 5 days a week. I guess you could call it my exercise away from actual exercise.

I have a tendency to go on random nature strolls with the boyfriend (yes, that's his debut up there!) in sky high wedges. I guess it's our thing-- to appreciate beautiful sceneries on sunny days. He will never come to understand my skill in heels. Ladies, please tell him how we do it. Also ignore his so called hand sign. It is in no way associated with any group/gang. He's just being his silly old self.

Pics from the local shop where I purchased this bag up soon. They have the most amazing pieces from Thailand, Nepal, and Tibet! I could spend the day in there....

Having polka dot fever lately. Planning to pair this top with dotted culottes next time around. Picture black high waisted shorts with tiny white dots. Think it'll prove to be an interesting contrast.
